All this and a Custom 57 Chevy Convertible too! Two icons of Hotrodding resting together in one place, dry and safe.

The 57 convertible, the 65 corvette, and the two camaros are not for sale she said. She wants to keep those in the family. The other 57's are going to be for sale. Lots of offers on them already but once again, they couldn't be removed yet. Lots to do but she's getting there. It's been five months since I first saw them. Might be another couple before those cars get outside.

Am I the only one that thinks the front end is kind of ugly? I like the interior, though!

Very interesting car.. and yes the 1940 Headlights do look familiar on a 36 Ford custom I have seen somewhere... but right now I cant place it. And I'm also not even sure if that was a 5-window coupe.

In any event its a very nice old custom that looks to be built during several periods perhaps. The 40 Headlights look like something that could have been done in the 40's. But the removal of the running boards and the side pipes looks late 50's early 60's.
I will keep an eye out for it, when browsing for stuff.

Looking forward to get to see some photos of the complete car. side view etc.

    Thanks for posting

Ed Park out of Alaska built(rebuilt) an old custom 36 cabriolet back in the late 80's and drove it down to the street rod nationals in St. Paul. There was a story in Street Rodder magazine back then about him driving it down the Al-Can hiway and about the rebuild. It originally had a LaSalle grill with the 40 lights like that in the fenders. Ed rebuilt it with a stock 36 grill, but kept the 40 headlights down in the fenders. The front looked just like this 36.

It's simply amazing, what keeps turning up. Part of it has to be (unfortunately) that many hot rodders of the 50's and 60's are leaving us and their families aren't interested in keeping the cars any more. It's great that some good care takers are getting them.

It's hard to beat the day you get to go and pick them up. Right up there with the first time you drive em out of the garage . Cool find, lost of history there.

It's face looks like it was beaten with the stick of Martha White but it's very cool nonetheless. The interior is magic.

    What a find!

    No aditional info...

This one is not chopped but the runningboards are gone.. and ofcoars the 1940 Headlights

I never did go to bed last night...
Today has been one little problem after another. Camera is dead, cell phone is dead, bank account is empty...but five hours of maneuvering and one large cash payment later, I have a chopped and channeled 1936 Ford hot rod sitting in my driveway.

Everything is recharging right now, including me. I've spent only a minute or two in the drivers seat making engine noises because I've had to clean out another garage to make space for it before my wife gets home and shoots me.

I'm absolutely strapped to the wall, financially, for buying it, but it's awesome. I agree about the front end issues but the rest of the car is great.

It rained all day today and the car sits so low that it didn't want to get on a trailer but the original tires aired right up, no brakes were stuck, the car rolls and steers, the engine turns over by hand, and I have a clear Indiana title. Can't beat that.

    Pictures to come...
