I'd ahve to say (after driving the Stude for the first time up and down the highway after gettin her running) would be the shortest and slowest drive of my life. Through the West Acres Mall. Talk about watching your reflection in the windows! Hearing them tires slowly squealin against the freshly waxed tile floor and swerving around fountains and souvenir kiosks was a blast!

I hit the hiways a lot with whatever I'm driving at the time but I hadda blast this summer in my trusty ol 41 Poncho.
I always go out west because it's where I was born and raised....I go home.
Some day, I'd like to cruise the east coast. From Florida to Maine, along the coast. I've already done it on the west coast in my 57 BelAir hardtop and later in my slammed 72 chevy stepside....
This is from this summer in the 41... Stopped somewhere in Southern Colorado and pretty soon Purple Pickup [HAMBer] came flyin by...stopped to ******** and I clicked off this photo...we were on our way to the HAMB drags.

I put a few miles on my A pickup

    From Texas to:
    B'ville
Chicago twice, Hunnert car pileup 2 and 3
    Paso
    Wellington KS
    Tulsa a few times
Viva las Vegas, drag racing through down town with B*** and Outlaw
at 2:00 in the morning and nobody looked at us funny.

My favorite was this year going from LA to Paso with
Bobbleed and Savage blasting up the Pacific Coast Highway,
the only way to make that trip better would be if Jaker had
    his 27 running.

The Black Hills are some of my favorite cruising ( still after all these years and miles) I still like most of the trip to and from Alaska after 6 times. Kluane lake, miles of driving along the shoreline of mirror smooth water.

Drove my truck to the HAMB Drags this summer. Longest trip in the truck. Was a bunch of fun and I didn't even run the truck. 3000 miles round trip... and the only pic I got of my truck is in the background in front of JimC's house...

too much fun... I'll be driving to Vegas this year as well as the roundup and the drags...

I got to drive around the Lowes motor speedway at Good Guys last year. I had Boones hot on my tail - we were running pretty fast the second lap. It was very cool

So far it has to be the long maiden voyage to paso robles in may, after only a week of "test" time. Another car in the caravan had ***embly completed 10 minutes before we left. We had a blast and no problems at all.

Does riding a little Ysr50 around Texas Motor speedway count? I'm probably the only one to ever do that and I almost got arrested for it as well. It's a long way around that track when you only have a top speed of maybe 65. I dodged and tried to out run the cops on their golfcarts but they finally caught up to me when I got back to our booth at Pate(back when it was inside the track area.) [IMG]

I really wish I had pics of that!

The other day me and pops (Dirty2) met up in Terell, TX and cruised out to Emory, Texas. Was the longest that I had ever cruised the Coupe so far. Was gone about 6 hours. Nothing better than going 75m.p.h on some backroads with no wories at all. Had a blast and seen alot of cool stuff. I think those poeple need to leave there barns open so I can see whats in them. We are planning on going to Paso this year. I can't wait.

Skip Paso and run out to B'Ville with us. You won't regret
it. And 75mph isn't going to cut it so you can start
    working on that now.

Didn't you also want to run up to Hunner Car Pileup?

Lions Drag Strip. Only a quarter mile, ride didn't last very long, but still E-ticket fun! [IMG]

  16. I've had my 48 at
    Daytona
    Indy track
    Charlotte (over a 100 too)
    Bonneville
    Malibu beach CA
    and on Rt66

But I have a tradition of driving a Hot Rod on Christmas eve. Even when it snows. I would drive an hour to my Grandmother's every year. Something about the sound of Christmas music and a Hot Rod together was just cool to me. My granmother is gone now but I still drive my Hot Rods on Christmas Eve.

I'll hafta agree that anytime you can get your car 1000 miles from home is cool.

Lowe's/Charlotte was cool (better than TX Motor Speedway, IMO) The poker run there was real cool one year (2001?) cause it was a lot of smooth 2-lane roads with beautiful fall colors and perfect weather.

    Crossing the Mississippi.

Rocketing thru downtown Atlanta was cool.

I-40 between Knoxville and Nashville with a few spots of snow here-and-there in January 2003.

Going for boiled peanuts & oysters in historic Charleston, SC with a couple of nephews...

    I could go on...

I drove the roadster to Estes Park and thru Rochy Mountain N.P. The trip over Trail Ridge road in a roadster is incredable. I went on to Bonniville and GG Plesenton. Came back thru Yosemite and Death Vally and Los Vegas. I ran from Vegas to Beaumont Texas in 32 hours. In Rocky Mountain N.P. a bus load of **** stopped at a view point. They ran over to the roadster instead of the overlook!

I have to agree with Smokin Joe. Anytime I pull out on the road it's pretty special-all the daily trials and troubles go away. Runnin down the road in an old vehicle is good escape-good therapy. Sam
