Found this inside an 8BA intake runner, must have fallen in through the carb, and I'm assuming hadn't been run or would have been in the cylinder after a few miles??
the paint on the heat risers was still good so it appears it hadn't been run much or at all since installed in the vehicle before sitting for years.

just another good reason to check things out before firing up an engine that has been sitting for years and years. (not that I could have with this one anyways as it was froze up, but just a thought.) :)

what the heck is it?? any ideas. Miniture Dilator ?? for carb surgery?

    thanks

The one on the left appears to be a "white face scale" used in optics. The one on the right? I dunno. Wayno

  4. Looks like a club used by a very, very small midget.......

I could see maybe being jewelry?? maybe something from a mans bracelet ?? just not sure how that would have worked?

its the perfect thing to drop into and engine, if you wanted to smash a hole into a piston.

The one on the left looks a bit like an altitude scale and the one on the right looks like a metering rod for a carb synchronizer. They both look really familiar, but, I'll bet somebody else's left nut I'm right.

i can see this in a leave it to beaver episode...

"you know beav, if you drop this magical wand in your dads ford, it will be able to drag with the best of them"

"BEAV! WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY CAR"

"Im sorry dad, I know that i shouldent mess with your car unless i ask you first. ive learned a valuable lesson today"

"well thats alright beaver, we will just let the car sit for 50 years and someone will post about it on the internet some day....whats the internet?"

but in all seriousness it looks like a make shift butterfly tester.

It's an internal, air-fuel ratio metering rod. In the early days of pollution controls they developed this wireless telegraphy transmitter to send a signal to the nearest am radio.
