We were doing some mockup on my 28 Ford closed cab pickup and are looking for some ideas on cowl band mounting and floor construction.
2"x4" frame,4" Z, with the cab channeled 4". I was thinking 1"x2" rec tube subrails with 1" square tube floor framing? My camera is being a pain in my ass tonight but I will try and post some pictures.

I did 1x2 in my floors. Came out decent. Then I covered it in stained plywood. Turned out decent for a garage build! I always get compliments on how it turned out.

I was thinking of using 1"x2" tubing for the whole floor also.

I've got a 34 Ford truck and I'm working on figuring out how to mount the cab the same way. Are you planning on welding the box tubing to the firewall, sides, and rear of the cab and bolting that to the frame or what?
