heres the deal, a friend of mine just purchased his granddads 63 caddy that was long lost for 15 years. were working on bringing her back to life. he is having trouble finding all the springs and things to rebuilt the drum brakes, and the parts he has found total up to $700, and these are just basic things like the brake cyl., pads, etc.. so we are thinking about going to disc brakes. anyone have any experience in doing so?

A guy I know put either Baer or Willwood discs on all 4 corners of a 63 cdv, but that route is certainly more than $700. If you are still interested, contact Shoreline Motoring in Huntington Beach, Ca. They might be able to give you part numbers.

I put discs on my 63 and got the brackets from Scarebird cl***ic brakes. He is a alliance vendor on here.

RPM Engineering (Ron Parks) sells a kit and seems to know a lot about the swap. His phone # is 760-329-1886.

id do some more research, i remember reading or hearing about a few have adapted the 68 disk brake set up onto the 63. i think you need to ream the spindle to accept the ball joints.

it may have been the 62 cadillac convert that troy tripania(sp?) built afew years ago, not real sure. the car im think of was at sema and featured in custom rodder magazine.

...check with MASTERPOWER in Mooresville NC. They had a program to put disc brakes on most anything, but you will probably had to send them your spindles for correct fitment....Good Luck....

I asked them about this recently.... That's how it works. Send your spindles and they build the kit to your spindles and they send them back to you ready to go. Master Power has good tech support too....
