Whether or not you get rejected at the gate, you should come and take in the show. You will not regret it. But Denise is right, you will not get in based on the wheels and the Chromalusion (sp?) monochromatic paint because the visual styling of the car is not traditional, no matter how the build took place.

I prefer Friday, because that is when my band usually plays. :D

Typically Friday is the crazier night. Saturday is usually the crazier bands. For example we have Bleed in a rare midwest appearance this Saturday night.

There is spectator parking, but I guarantee you will not want to hang out out there once you see the inside area. Seriously.

Nope, this one goes to very, very, VERY few events and I talked him into attending the PileUp with his '47 Olds convertible.

That depends on how much you enjoy driving your car. But there are lots and lots of cars out there that don't get in. The Pileup is just as much about driving your car as it is getting into the gate.

For some people, the drive IS more of the reason to go. The last outdoor show of the year. Some really do care about getting in the gates. Others, like me, go because it's like a giant, weird, family reunion.

If its your first time you could always drive down, cruise the streets on Friday, and see the show, or bring the comfy daily driver and check it out to see if you want to drive down next year.

I promise, no mater what you decide to do or drive, you won't be disappointed.

yeah... it's what happens when a jokester gets ahold of a food dehydrater and uses it on hot dogs, then replaces "chocolate chips" in the cookie with hot dog chips, which after dehydration are super concetrated intense hot do flavor... in a sweet cookie. It was dark. I was drinking. And it's still funny.

Not with those wheels it wasn't, but it is a nice looking car. I don't know if the Fairgrounds will allow an open flame BBQ out in the spectator lot either, but they absolutely will not allow it inside the gates. Just park whatever car you bring and walk in, get some BBQ and beer from a vendor and check out all the cars. Personally, I'd drive your car down. If you like attention, the cars that didn't get in, get a lot of positive attention outside, too. There's always around 200 or so cars parked out front.

Not sure if any of you are aware of it but the Morris car show is the day after the Hunnert Car Pileup, about 12 miles away. Just take RT 6 east from RT 47 to Tabler Rd. and you'll see it.
