    And she's an evil biatch!

She's a '59 Dodge Royal D500 2 door hardtop. Factory black with red/black interior. She hasn't been on the road since '77 and needs a good going over. She's pretty solid and still has it's original 320hp 383 and torqueflite trans. I have the buildsheet and she was a customer ordered car. Funny, it has factory 2.93 gears so this buyer must have had high speed highway driving in mind. It has HD suspension (5 rear leafs) and brakes. I can't wait to get this puppy running and out for a snort. The bad: Some ***hole busted the windshield and slashed the rip free interior! The seller had a spare windshield. I'll worry about the seats later.

    Very cool! Congratulations!
It is a shame about the vandalism though...
Someday i wouldn't mind getting a 57-58 Plymouth myself, and i'm a diehard GM guy!
Christine had a very strong and lasting impression on me as a kid i guess :D:D

    Good luck and enjoy!

That front end is definately evil looking. Hope there is no plans to marry that car with the Iroc in the picture.

  7. Fantastic! Is that a Sure-Grip 2.93? Exhaust tips too! Wow!

Very cool score. There is a website dedicated to the Mopars from 55-62, it has been really helpfull whenever I have needed parts or advice. check it out here: www.forwardlook.net

Thanks guys. Yep, forwardlook was a huge help in determining if this was a real D500. Don't worry-that IROC isn't mine! I've always wanted a 59 Dodge. Finding a 2 door hardtop D500 less than a half hour from home was a bonus! She even has a pair of rusty old gl***packs. I hope to have it running this weekend.

sweeeet. great catch! IMHO the Dodge was prettier than the Plymouth those years.

  22. . Wow, what an awesome automobile!!! She's gourgeous!!!
I'd never call myself a fan of the pre 50's mopars But the styling of those 50's Mopars is out of this world!!! Where did they all go??? It seems like whenever I see one it's like a incredible new discovery. It also seems as if they had a step up on ford and g.m. styling in many respects, I hope theres a lot more of them hiding out there, waiting to be found. Congrats on finding a great car!!!

They all rusted away....notorious for rust. Non-treated steel and a rush to production.

I agree, the Forward Look styling makes everything else from that time period look stodgy. I parked my 57 Dodge next to a 57 Chevy at a show. What a neat comparison. My Dodge looked about a foot lower, and certainly a lot "faster" just sitting there.

Congrats on the 59, those things just look pissed-off!!!.

One of my favorite '50s Mopars... the '59 Dodge.
I'm working on getting a '59 hardtop myself.
These cars should all be black.

    Cool car!, Congrats!

Beta: Yeah I know. Don't you just HATE plain cars?

Nyuk, nyuk! Nah, really, TstClr, WHAT A GRAND FIND! nOT only DOES IT HAVE EVERYTHING BUT THE KITCHEN SINK ON IT FROM THE FACTORY, IT'S IN DARN NICE SHAPE!!! Wow.

I don't see the seats as any show-stopper. I am sure they can be reupholstered by a pro knowledgable of the original fabric and pattern. Am I right, fellow HAMbers?
