I've gotta Ford 302. I believe it was from a 1974 Falcon from what my detective work has uncovered, and needs a new carb.

Any suggestions on a specific carburetor make/model you have had good luck with?

I have heard good things about the Demon carbs, but wanted some insight. What CFM does this motor require?

And of couse bang for the buck is vital.

    Thanks guys

Depends what you want to do with the car and what's in the motor. If it's stock and you want a cruiser, I would suggest a 500 cfm performer.

Its going in 27 T sedan. Probably about 1650 lbs. Stock motor. Just purchased it so im not sure if its going to need a rebuild or what not, but basically just want a simple carb setup that i wont have to worry about.

Yep, 500 cfm will be plenty. Even the OE carb would be fine. Don't be afraid of an over the counter replacement. Moving into aftermarket carbs is the fastest way to hurt driveability and mileage. If you are asking this question, you probably aren't prepared to troubleshoot and tune a universal carb.

An Edelbrock performer 500 cfm electric choke would be worry free.

Agreed!! ..especially for a lower HP stock 302. I like the Edelbrock carbs and have had very good experiences with them -- 'set it and forget it'!

Another vote for the Edelbrock 500. The manual choke will save a little bit of cash if you're really worried about bang for your buck. Just make sure the choke cable is as straight as possible (middle of dash) and it'll be nice and smooth.

Edelbrock's just don't look right on a Ford. Go with the 500 CFM Holley.

A 500 is all you need or even a big 2 bbl . Stock doesn't need much and even with a nice cam a 500-550 will still be plenty . Stay away from Holley's unless you enjoy playing with them all the time . I have an Edelbrock and is a great carb . Another good carb is the Ford 4 bbl . The biggest mistake many people do is over carb their engine !

If your 302 came with a Ford (Autolite) 2-barrel, it would be plenty for your application. Readily available at the local auto parts stores, and inexpensive compared to any aftermarket unit. Has the added advantange of having the correct calibration without having to be messed with.
