Who has really run on the Salt Flats with a real street car?

A guy at WOS 2009 told me he rode his bike 700 miles and then ran in the 130 club. It was a stock Big Dog with an S&S motor, so I ***umed he was legit, turns out he was probably full of it, and the bike actually arrived in an enclosed trailer.

So, how many people actually drive a car/truck/bike to the Salt Flats, run it hard, then drive it home?

Perhaps that should be my goal, since my car won't ever be compe***ive against the purpose built trailer cars with A blown gas engines.

I bet next year I can drive my Ford from Portland to Wendover, change tires and run over 150, then drive it home.

Has it been done before? If so how fast?

uh, big dog = chopper style bike, which = wind resistance which in turn= im calling ********. i have a 77 shovelhead all choppered out bored stroked to a little over 80cui. and when that baby hits 70mph its tough to hold on to the grips let alone stay on the seat due to wind resistance...and im 6'1'', 250lbs
i know from going to the scta and the bonneville website that you can roll in with whatever and you have to make practice runs to see what division your in to be cl***ified as a 130 mph club....and as of what I see. its not an easy task.
