I was having a tough couple days, or so I thought till I viewed it. I thought I'd share this with you guys. Paul This is worth your time... This is the True Story A son says to his father: 'Dad, would you be willingly to run a marathon with me?' The father, despite his age and a heart disease, says 'YES'. And they run that marathon, together. The son asks: 'Dad, can you run another marathon with me?' Again father says 'YES'. They run another marathon, together. One day the son asks his father: 'Dad would please do the Iron Man with me?' Now just in case you wouldn't know, 'The Iron Man' is the toughest triathlon in existence: 4km swimming, then 180 km by bike, and finally another 42 km running, in one stroke. Again father says 'YES' Maybe this doesn't 'touch' you yet by heart ... until you see this clip (put on sound!): THE MOVIE - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJMbk9dtpdY </TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=bottom noWrap align=middle width=175></TD><TD class=bottom bgColor=#e9e9e9><HR style="BORDER-RIGHT: #37496d 1px dotted; BORDER-TOP: #37496d 1px dotted; BORDER-LEFT: #37496d 1px dotted; BORDER-BOTTOM: #37496d 1px dotted" width="100%" SIZE=1></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
Wow. That's what family does. I'd do ANYTHING for my girls. They are me. Without them, I'm nothing. Wow.
I had the honor and privilege of attending a dinner where Mr. Hoyt was speaking about a year ago. He and his son are truly inspirational and their story will just about tear your heart out. I'm getting a little misty just thinking about it. Thor
Outstanding clip. I saw this or portions when this was made and no doubt a miracle . Thanks for posting it .It really reminded me how fortunate we all are to do the things we do.
Wow......i have no idea how to put into words what i feel, so i'll just say thanks for the link. Truly inspirational, and moving.
I cherish that story. As parents it is amazing what we'll do for our kids and families. My wife and I raised our three on love, hardships, forgiveness, tears, laughter, illnesses, life lessons, cars, faith and more love. They all supported me in my pinstriping career even though many times they went without the luxuries of life. No matter all tough times we had we all stayed together as family and friends and still are that way now. And, we finally got that youngest boy married last month to a wonderful girl from Santa Clarita Cali. Athough my health does not allow me to travel much anymore, we still went to LA and had a ball. I once figured that I spent damn near $800,000 raising those kids but what the hell, at least the feds didn't get it. Love your kids no matter what. Mikey
I thank god that I am blessed with my healthy son but we all know that can change in the blink of an I so we have to charish every moment .
after watching that and other clips about that family my problems are not that big, kinda puts things in perspective and as my hoyt says "You can do anything, once you make up your mind". glad you guys liked it. Paul
