Quick 352 -390 compatability question!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Ratmotor, Oct 7, 2009.

  1. Quick question....A guy p***ing through town with a real nice 61 Thunderbird needs some pushrods and rocker arms. The car is a 390 and all I have are parts from a 64 352. No problem using them? Same parts? It will save the guys *** if they will work....

  2. Should be the same stuff...same deck height and lots of parts shared between the two...

A quick way might be to check the parts # for each on www.napaonline.com or www.schucks.com

I'm not sure my Ford parts guru buddy still works at the dealership he worked at for about 40 years so I can't tell you to call him.

Oh yes, they are most likely the same part. Not quite relavent but I had a 330FE bus engine and a 352FE car engine and the pushrods are the same. Many, and I mean many things interchange throughout the whole FE/FT engine line.

A 66 model can have 6 different lengths of push rods. I don't know about a 61. Find a parts store that still uses the catalogs with TRW books being the best. It gives the lengths of all the different pushrods.
