[ QUOTE ] Would I be nuts to trade this for a '38 deluxe tudor or fordor? [/ QUOTE ] Well, my first reaction to that question is "Yup -- nuts." But then any kind of fenderless A on Deuce rails has been my unfulfilled dream since I was a teenager twentysomething years ago. I guess it really depends on what the '38 is like, and what you're hoping to do with it. The '38 would be better for longer-distance stuff and hauling friends around in. Bear in mind this universal truism -- Once you get a different car, you're bound to miss the other. Is there a way you can get both? Dave
jim, ya know i like that rpu. so i'd keep it. but you didn't ask what i would do. if you want to build the 38 so's you can haul the family around then that's pretty cool. as pete rose said "a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do." if the rpu goes down the road i sure hope a hamber gets it. i'd like to see it finished.
The big question is: What would it take to finish the A? And what would it take to finish the 38(s)? It is hard selling a car you built/own without ever driving it.
The RPU needs some final welding done on the ch***is, wiring, plumbing, and a radiator. I have a rebuilt 283 that I'd like to hang on to - to go into a '38. I had thought that I might be able to swap it for an equal condition '38 deluxe tudor or fordor. I haven't found a '38 but have been giving some serious thought to offering the RPU for one. Until (and unless) a '38 pops up I'll continue to build the RPU though. Who knows, maybe I'll finish it and fall in love with it all over again. JH
