Bob here. I live in Olympia WA where it rains so much you have lots of time to build cars and motorcycles. I'm an old guy who use to build hotrods in San Diego then moved to WA thirty years ago, did some stock car racing then moved to back to building hot rods. I have a hotrod shop here and build for both myself and customers. About 4 years ago I went to Bonneville with a friend who was racing a Buell bike. Now I'm building and racing one of my own. I build what my customers want but my own hotrods are what I would have built when I was a kid if I'd had the tools and skills then that I have now. I have a '32 Ford roadster with a big block and a jockey shift. I built the headers. I'm into BIG headers. I also like holes. Lots of holes.
newbe from southern Cal, just got back from the salt, caught the fever. I went there with my nephew who has a 124 in Star racing Harley. Being a new guy to the salt he of course had to get his 130 license first, ran a 138.383 and backed it up with a 138.835 so now can move up to the 150 course. bike should run in the high 160's just the way it's set up and faster with the right sprocket and jetting. We'll try in 2011 at either speed week or world of speed week in September
Love the '32, for me that might mean jail time! One of the cars that I have is intended for the Salt Flats as well. I'm having a time of it getting a new rule book. Seems they keep running out.
