What is your definition of a tire kicker?

The first thing I usually ask them when they profess an interest in one I have for sale: "Are you curious, or serious...???"

'Curious' is given a higher price (to impress him) because I already know he's not going g to buy...

'Serious' is given my price cuz I'm sure he's going to negotiate.

Had one email me today off an old CL ad, wanted to look at a car I have here at the house on his way either to, or back from, Hershey. Meaning either about 6:00 PM Friday or like early morning Sunday.

Okay, say I spend an hour moving shit in the garage to dig it out for what? On your way down you're not going to blow your wad so you can buy stuff there, and on the way back you'll have spent it all, so I just did all that work for nothing. No thanks.


Now if the guy had left out the Hershey stuff and said he was interested in buying it, maybe he could have fooled me into making it presentable for him.

 

I'm gonna keep this one in mind...

 

around here we have " bib whistler's " They stand there with their thumbs in the straps of their bib overalls and say "whew thats a lot of money"

An amigo stopped to buy a pickup of mine and wanted to test drive, I told him he could but he had to leave his very young wife as a deposit and when he got back I would give her back. But I said if anything happens to my truck the same thing happens to your wife so I wouldn't abuse the truck if I was you. He decided he didn't want a test drive ,I don't know why.

 

Now that`s funny.

someone who wants to buy your car but there is NO WAY in hell his wife would ever let him have anything like that!

or someone that would buy your car if you cut the price in half, filled the tank, threw in the top box of your tool box full of tools & delivered it.

in the internet age these people are called picture collectors, they want you to send them more pictures because they are "interested" in your car but after you send them more pictures you never hear from them again. These kind of people piss me off, wasting my time. and also " send me your phone number so we can talk"

 

My quick description, a pain in the ass who's wasting my time.
