I just left Gene's place.. A few cars were already there at 2am.. Last year people started showing up at about 6am.. There is way more parking this year inside. There is also more outside closer to the gate and off the street.. Jay Johnston will be joining us this year.. This is his first car event in over 40 years.. Do a search on here for his name.. He has lots of cars unser his belt. Rodders journal #33 has a beautiful shot of his shoebox on pages 38 and 39.. It was also the cover of Car Craft January '55....... Cool guy that built *****en cars........

 

Planing to be there around noon. The shop truck is already on it's way. Octavio is driving it out for me.

There was some serious history out in the desert at Gene Winfield's today!
A good fielding of kustoms, some hot rods, and not many of those black primered pieces of ****! I saw people I didn't even know were vertical, still, walkin' and talkin'! Name a shop in the Western United States that produced anything in the last fifty years, and someone from that shop was there. Wow don't cover it!

definatly way cool.

well set up, and plenty of room. by mid day there was a ton of people there.
was cool to talk to some of the old timers i havent seen in a spell.

Most fun I've had at a show in a while, aside from Barris (but there's already a thread for that). Crazy mix of stuff, but that fits Gene perfectly. My kid loved it, and I got to see some cars in person that got me super excited. Here's some pics:






My kid wanted to take this one home. She kept telling me it was here size.

Cool story, my daughter wanted to see inside, so I picked her up so she could. The owner ran over and opened the door so she could see inside. Then he gave her one of his business cards with a picture of the car on it. Cool guy. She was saying "Rodriguez" the whole way home in the car.
