Had the hotrod out for one last ride this season

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Probesport, Oct 11, 2009.

  1. Most likely, its been getting colder and heading into a Michigan winter I decided to get it out of the garage, dust it off and go for a spirited run.

When I got back I was cold, a little wind burned but I enjoyed every minute of it, I hope I get another chance this year but I did take some pics when I got home to enjoy through the snowy months.

Love that dash. Looks like those tire will give high floatation in the snow. Why you wanna put it away for the winter? That's trailer queen speak!

  6. Move to New Zealand.... we drive 'em all year round.

    BTW; cool bucket.

  7. There are ton's of better cars on here than in the mags. Great car.

I'm this > < close to offering a trade in weather. It was 92 with a feels like 102deg yesterday and today. Maybe the weather will give us a break in a couple of weeks. I'm hoping it will cool off a bit so I can work in the garage without needing to drink a gallon of water every hour or so. :(

Edit: Sweet car, almost forgot why I wanted to post.

Send it California and I'll keep it warm for you...:D

I remember reading your tech thread on the dash.
    It came out great!

  12. That dash is tits!!! Lots of very nice detail on your car - I especially like the alternator mount/cover. All-around sweet!

first time I ever saw a T I liked. Nice job!

nothing against any others, I just can't fit in them (tall), so they are not of interest.

    you did a great job!

  14. Yep, it was a spare from my old '52 - 320 to be exact.

I know, I'm getting ready to polish my gold chain as we speak.

I wouldn't mind the snow believe it or not, it's the cold without anything to enjoy that bothers me - I still haven't put the gas line out to my garage yet so it may be another cold winter in there unless I can get off my ass and do it.

I don't really care for the heat either, 80's seems damn hot to me. Give me 50-75 and I'm good.

To all, thank you very much for the compliments, much appreciated. I still got a long way to go in my eyes, I need to hard line the carbs, needs cheaters out back and bombers inside.

I like that alternator cover. Covers that ugly thing up creatively.
    Great work. I like it.

  18. The alternator cover was a junkyard score from a 70's Volvo belt guard. I had to do some slight modification but other than that it went on pretty easy. When I saw it in the yard I knew exactly why I needed it :)

  19. until the snow flies and theres salt on the roads, i'd be driving that car as much as possible. nice car.

  24. Great looking ride - been a brisk day here even as far south as we are today ....

I see you have the split 4-bbl to 2 deuces - are they progressive? How do they run? I'm running a similar setup on a flattie in the avatar that I have not fired yet but I was just curious. I got my stuff from Vintage Speed ...
