I like it too. When you make something by hand and it looks "factory" made, I think you did well. It will leave the wanna be's searching the hardware stores for a grill like yours! I think perhaps I would want it another color then the car as you said and I like the idea of a piece of chrome down the center myself. I do agree with what someone said, pinstripping might make it too busy and for what it's worth, I really like the dimple die work, makes it look finished. My 2 cents.

I think its great as is, but since you will be repainting again, you could always try some new things, like striping the radiused edge of each hole to give them more accent. If it was me I'd leave it, good stuff!
