Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Tman, Nov 2, 2004.

  1. Not to offend any of yoose, it will be a quick trip. The opening acts start at 5PM at the Quest, lil bro (sentinal T here on the HAMB) and I will hit town and jet ASAP. Last I saw there were still tickets, look for a couple dudes in black Ts..................okay, look for the dude in the HAMB shirt with the ****y dude in the Salinas Boyz T [IMG] From what I know, it is an all ages show. Wish we had more time to do some garage crawls and grab a burger but time is of the essence.

Jeeeezus! How did you get your tickets so cheap? I got ****d through Ticket Master! Unfortunately I know the way to the Quest. Not the biggest fan of that place but ah well it is for good bands.

  9. Like I said, Look for th HAMB shirt and lil bro will have a Salinas Boyz shirt. Justin you know me, I now have ****y specs like you [IMG]

  10. Well, I guess I could walk the 5 blocks down the street from my office to the quest. see you guys there.

  11. T-Man - let us know how the show was. Were going to see them on Sat. The venue here is the same way, they pack em in there so damn tight, then you have to battle all the little punks just to go take a piss..

  12. how was the show guys??

  13. WOW! just rolled in from the Cities. Katz, didnt see you or what I remembered you looking like? If you were the dude by the sound booth with the Socal jacket I yelled your name a couple times [IMG] [IMG]

SHow was packed, opening act, The Explosion was damn good after the first couple songs. Never heard Tiger Army but they rocked pretty hard, weird mix they had. I am going to look up their first couple albums. As for Social D not being the honest headliner (at least someone said that) that is a WRONG ***umption! They rocked hard and fast. I think they played for close to 90 minutes? We were stuck with our backs to the sound booth, which was fine. crowd was elbow to elbow.

And to keep this car related, I spent most of the trip thinking about how the 54 REALLY needs to be done up full custom. Would had been much cooler pulling up to the show in THAT! And Cole, I didnt even try to say howdy to Mike for ya, the crowds were crazy. If he wants to meet me he can come to my Reliability Run in Sturgis with YOU next year [IMG]

We went Saturday night in Chicago. Good show. Tiger Army's sound ****ed but it was magically fixed for Social D. Had to leave the car at home. There's no place to park around there. [IMG]

Oh yeah, tell Mike Ness that eyeliner shade he was looking for is Mandingo Black by Prince Miatchabelli. I've got three extra tubes if he wants one.

  18. Nads, do I sense petty jealousy? Mainline some of that Rogain and snort some Slimfast powder, might get your boyish figure back [IMG]

Yeah, the Sound was OK for the first 2 bands, and was as perfect as could be in a club for SD.

And the Quest had a killer little pay to park lot next door that would have looked good with my 54 sittin in it. Although, for some reason the parking garage let us all out free, Timberwolves had their season opener that let out the same time as the show [IMG]?

  19. T-Man - Tiger Army always sounds like **** live. No matter where they play. There recorded stuff aint that great either.

  20. Guess I wont feel bad for em whenI download their stuff then [IMG]

Good to see a few street punks and posuers again. Weird mix in the crowd, Soccermoms, punks, frat boys. Guys that looked like they had hot rods but just sported the "look" [IMG]

On a sad note, First Avenue locked its doors yesterday [IMG] Bad for Mpls music.

That tiger army drawing that crowd. at least that what its like here.

  22. I gotta say this and I will let the topic drop. Mike stopped mid-set and asked who was the youngest member of the crowd? Some 8 year old kid named Kevin was on his dads shoulders. Ness had him come onstage and talked to the kid a bit. Encouraged him to stay in school and then said the reason the kid was up there was he was our future. Damn cool moment..............lets talk 54 Chevys.
