It is the downside (backside) of the material for sure, even worse is the dashboard's reflection on the windshield. When yer moving it's not so bad, it is a hardtop so air circulates pretty good but when you're creeping in traffic it's not much fun.

  7. Holy shit Nads, that Capri Consul turned out like butter. Looks like you and your progeny had a swell time.

You still coming to Chicago next month? Drop me a line, amigo.

  8. Nice job on the Capri. Excuse my english ford ignorance, but what kinda driveline does it have?

    Dirty.........just kidding.
It's a 1500cc 4 cylinder overhead valve engine. This one is a GT version, it has bigger valves, a header, 4 branch intake, Weber two choke carb with mechanical secondaries and I put in a Pertronix electronic ignition. It has a 4 speed all synchro gearbox and rear wheel drive with unknown gear ratio.
The original engine, which itself was replaced under warranty was a weakling 1340cc job that had a three main bearing HOLLOW crankshaft, blew up long ago, something they were prone to do.
The bottom ends are what Lotus twin cams are based on, one day I'd like to do that conversion, the parts are readily available but muy expensivo.

She runs good, keeps up with modern traffic but with 85hp it ain't no dragstrip terror.

  11. Probably. Or we could just hug for warmth.

PS -- don't know how much time you have but we could treat you to a grand MCM tour.

Totally stock, the whole body is stock except for a few welded seams and smoothed bumpers.

Great looking Capri. Love the flake.

  21. I second that and I'd feel bad if I don't see you when you're in the Chicago area as well.

Have Mike call me when you arrive.
