Had to take the 302 out of frame on my build and was having trouble finding a hydraulic motor puller and am too cheap to buy one, so I used my trusty 1957 Ford tractor with a boom pole to pull motor/****** off frame. Worked like a champ. Lighter load than some logs I move around.

    she's gonna get a 365 with dual wcfb's out of a 56 w/either a t400 or a 700r4. haven't decided about the ****** yet. i'd really like to do the t400 w/ a gear vendors od, but it's the money as always.

while it's apart i'm gonna rebuild the front suspension, try to update the steering gear, convert to disk brakes, etc.

original plan was to clip the frame and do a sbc, but after thinking about it for awhile i didn't want to look back someday and kick myself in the *** for cutting up a good old frame, then this 56 organ donor came along, so...

Sounds like a good plan to me if you can find a transmission adapter. Let me know if you want to sell off any of the 56 parts.
