    WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG!

i believe it is wrong to charge for autographs because this is not a "service."

    a) Anyone, famous or not, can sign their name and it only takes a second.
If, for example, i want someone to put a straight front axle in my car and they charge $$$ for it then that is ok because i don't have the ability to do that. This is a true service.

Charging for an autograph is akin to pros***ution because anyone can, well you get the picture.......

    b) IF there was a sign or pre-annoucement that such and such will be charging for his/her autograph and proceeds will go to benefit such and such, then that may be ok.

    c) At the same token, if you meet a celeb on the street or at a non-event, then asking them for their autograph may be rude. (?)

    d) i figure that the person is being paid to come to an event or otherwise wants to or is otherwise compelled to come and therefore the notion of signing of autographs is a given.

    e) i understand about e-bay etc. and that some individuals are profiting off of celebrity autographs, but for a person to charge for his/her own autograph is simply perputuating the problem.

NOTE: The above, of course, is only my opinion. But i'm usually right about these things, so........

  4. i agree with you on charging for autographs , but i'm not with you on that statement. i have done lot's of work on cars that the owner was very capable to do themselves...for reasons like they didn't have the time or maybe they were just lazy . i still got paid

    uhhh, who cares.

you want the autograph pay up, if not then don't.

mainstream "athletes" do it all the time and they make millions.

Who the **** are we to say someone can't make money on something that they have spent their entire life building?

I used to autograph all kinds of things: buildings, bus stops, trains etc. I didn't charge anything. In fact it cost me money for spray paint!

Big Daddy Roth was at an event I was at years ago.
Basically a Toy Show that had a car cruise to go with it.
I went through the line several times getting some of my original Kit boxes autographed, plus posters, and other Roth memorabilia, signed it all, no charge.

Same event the next year.........another celebrity charged..........

I've gotten Garlits Autograph, and Shirley Muldowney's, and George Barris's, and several other's at events for not charge...........

Alway's nice when someone gives a little back to the fans.
