I have been reading some peoples counts of their recent runs to different shows and so forth, and it made me curious.

In your ride...What kind of ride is it?Do you have a heater? Air conditioning? A radio?

Or are you hardcore and prefer none of the above?

My pickup doesn't have any of the above.

It's got headlights for a creature comfort. Hell... even the wipers don't work. I say it makes an average trip to some place more of an adventure. Especially if you're racing a storm somewhere. :D

  7. Got no heater , no air cond., no defrosters, a radio you can't hear over the loud pipes, one wiper blade. When I need air I crank open the windshield then I eat bugs. This is why I love my Hot Rod.

Has nothing to do with wanting to be hardcore for me, more like what I can afford or what I feel looks right on my car.

No air/heat/defrost YET, it's coming as soon as I've got a few hundred dollars extra. I am tired of continuely wiping the inside of my windshield when it's raining.

I put a CD player in last year after 80,000 miles just because going across country by oneself is kinda boring without tunes. I do not have wipers because I don't like the way they look. I finally have roll up windows and a top because I wanted an interior and it was the only way for the interior to stay dry when it rains.

I got a luxury car...my 55 has cruise, heat, defroster, cd/radio/mp3 stereo, and a slushbox. Manual choke, manual brakes, manual steering, and all of the windows open with little hand cranks like they're supposed to. The driver seat is even kind of comfy. The gages all work too.

sure makes those long drives more enjoyable.

Heat, so I can drive it during the winter. That's it. It's a hot rod. I remember back in the day, we used to tear all the other crap OUT of our cars to cut weight/save HP. I must admit, I don't understand rods with power windows, A/C, big sound systems, flat screen TV's, yada yada. What's up with that?

And most of all, what's with "engine covers"???

All have some sort of radio, most have Sirius Sat...because i love music.
My truck has Sirius, electric wipers, heat/defrost/air..thats it..i didn't give a damn if it was hardcore or not, i planned to use it just as i do my 02 GMC and being cold or sweating my ass off when i leave work didn't sound like fun..so i made it 'work' for me. I regret not one thing about putting that in and have nothing to prove so it all worked out in the end..:):)
This will be the only one i go that far with..

The only comfort addition on my '32 roadster are a pair of windwings. Made a big improvement redirecting the wind with the 3" chopped windshield. No top, side curtains, wiper, heater, radio, ect. But I do carry ski goggles, gloves, waterproof jacket and hat. I won't change a thing. The FOGGER

My 52 Pontiac has a heater for the cold days and the 4/55 air system for the hotter days. :D

I've never had anything myself with actual A/C... don't really want it anyway. I've rode in cars with A/C and it usually just gives me a headache.

I have the original radio in my car which does work, but I can't pick up any stations on it. My car is 6 volt so I got a 12v converter and put me a cd player in the glove box.

I'd hate to admit that I'm adding some comfort to my 47 chevy fleetmaster after 15yrs. The massive truck heater is being replaced with an a/c / heat / defrost unit. I've tried to get people to stop breathing on rainy days but the windows still fog. I went a little crazy when I found NOS 55 Chevy power vent window crankers, I added nu-vintage window lifts to the mix. I kept my cowl vent which is a favorite for creating that magic carpet ride, when the vents are full open. I upgraded my vaccumn wipers to electric as I drive it in the rain. A stereo /cd player and Chevy power buckets w/lumbar to replace my old power Caddy seat round out my long distance driving plan. She is a better car all around and I will hopefully drive her until the nursing home. My couch has 4 wheels.;)

  21. No radio, just the blower noise.

Got a heater. It blows harder than a $2 hooker with a garden hose and a golf ball.

    Inside my 50 Ford:

    Steering wheel (power, works well)
    Brake pedal (manual, works ok)
    Gas pedal (works very well)
    Tach (good for guessing speed)
    Shifter (same as above)
Roll cage ( cause you never know)
Shitty seats (softer than metal floor, but not much)

Manual ,stearing, brakes, seat, and windows, no heater or A/C, plenty heat from the uninsulated firewall in the summer when I don't need it, for cooling I roll down the windows and push open the windshield, which blows all the dust from the floor up in my face.
    FUN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One working window (passenger), a bypassed heater core due to a leak, no carpet or sound deadener, no radio(high on my wish list), linkage but no shifter(also high on the priority list) but I do have a really cool velvet Jesus painting serving as the headliner.

  27. Everything I've ever had gets a halfway decent radio in it. I actually have a CD player in my daily, but only because it came with the truck.

Heater is a necessity up here because you need the ability to defrost the windows so you can see.

I dunno, I guess I must be a liteweight then. I have a non HAMB friendly car (71 Nova) and while I can suffer with no A/C, I do have to have heat. I love my wing windows and kick panel vents, but for me, long rides when I am cold, just suck.

And the radio was stolen a few years back, and I havent been bothered to replace it yet. That comes right after everything else on the list.

Funny. I had a 56 Olds that was the same way. No radio, no AC (and occasionally, no brakes) but it at least had a heater!

Well in Phoenix Az. I wouldn't consider A/C a creature comfort, just a survival necessity! So it's in. The summers I have spent driving my '48 Plymouth around Washington state were made much easier with defrost and heat, (used that slogging through the snow in the mid west too). Beyond that, no. About 400 hp and the tremac makes hearing a stereo impossible, and tons of rain-X keeps the windshield happy. Did I mention this is my everyday ride 24/7 for the last fifteen years? I don't do late models!
