I made this vise holder since a mobile vise is better than a stationary one, especially in my cramped garage. The underside of the car rim is filled with concrete. I added the little table to hold all of my most used tools around the vise. this will save tons of time. I'm always setting stuff down where it doesn't belong. Since the whole thing is metal i can put my welder's ground clamp on the plate that holds the vise when I'm welding small stuff. Super handy.

That's really cool! I've thought of something like that as well...I like the shelf holder idea...have you considered putting a power strip down the side of it to use as a remote plug in location?

now you need a holder for your tape measure on your vise holder thing.

good use of space there, great idea.

Nice, I made a couple stands just like that for my drillpress, beverly shears and vice. Couple steel dully rims, some old driveshafts and 1/2 plate, total cost: FREE. Gotta love the s**** bin at work

Nice Job , I might have to copy it . There is always more room outside than inside my garage.

That's a good idea. Would be nice to have that outside where there is more room to work.

I did the same thing after I found a big thick square chunk of steel for a base. that even looks like my vise. weighs about 200 pounds but I can slide it across the floor if I push on the vice real hard

needs a flake paint job! I have a couple of vises on stands, but no holders. Thanks! I will use your idea and think what a great place this is for sharing! Don't forget the pinstripes! (just kidding I'm happy with a coat of rustoleum on mine) Take care! tt

I like it too. I have a space saver tire and wheel that will get a new purpose for being here.....I'm sort of spooked about welding wheels I don't know the origins of.....several years back there was a farm kid out east of town was welding on a gauge wheel of a cultivator (how many know what I'm talking about?) and it blowd up on him, killed him....Some farmers were using propane out of a pick-up bed tank to air up flats around the farm....I have seen them use 1/2 inch impact wrenches on propane too.

Looks good, I have my bench grinder on a stand and need to build one for my big vise and my bench mounted polis

My next project is building an adjustable stand to use to use with my drill press and or the vise to keep long pieces level.

"hey, hold on a sec....I gotta air up my vise!"

Looks good, my pop had a big honkin tree stump with a wide base that he leveled out and used as the same purpose....I've been meaning to do the same thing now for a few years and havent gotten around to it...dem stumps make a good shrinking bowl as well...

Cool idea now when your wife says "do that **** OUTSIDE" you just have to roll it out of your workspace not carry everything in several trips.

Beer goes in the left hand while grinding stuff with the right hand. Unless of course your left handed

  30. I had to read that twice and almost lost my coffee!:D This moment reminds me of those safety films we watched back in jr high in the FFA vo-ag cl***es! All us smart***es were laughing when the poor sap got hurt! Now, older and wiser ( I hope!) I think of real life stuff like this; the senerio plays out like this, Joe welder is cutting away and the tires recieves it's hot poker and blows the hell up and Joe finds himself on his *** and the torch on the gas tank of his new 32 Roadster and now WHAT???????:D
