Ok, this is kind of a long story but stay with me...it's all relevent.

My first flathead powered vehical was a 1946 Ford pickup. I like 40/41's, but they are a lot of money so when I was looking for a flathead project I was looking for the ugly sister 1942-1947 Ford pickups. I found one and got it home, got it running and in no time had it lowered and driving the piss outta it. When I found my Model A coupe a few years ago I needed money quick, so the ol 46 was put up on here for sale, and Hamber Hershambob from England bought it and had it shipped over. Out of all the cars/trucks I have gotten rid of, that truck hurt the most and I miss it. Jamie (my girlfriend) misses it too, as I had it when we started dateing (my only running car at the time) so we were in it a lot.

    Here it is:

I missed having a truck so a year or two later I buy my 1951 Ford pickup and it gets the job done, but being a flathead 6 and a non syncro 4 speed wasn't quite like the ol 46 with the 59AB and top loader three speed! I have always wanted another 42-47 pickup with that running gear.

Fast forward to last weekend. I was in Monroe, WA (near Seattle) for a swap meet. I was at a booth looking at something and noticed the guy had some pictures of cars for sale. One was a very decent looking 46 1/2 ton pickup. I asked him about it, he said it had a late model flathead that was bad and a three speed! I asked the price, he said 675.00. Truck was in a town called Omak, about 3 hours from me. WOW! Made arrangments and met him this morning and bought it. It's a lot straiter then my old one, and really solid. the heavy duty bummpers on it sure saved the grill and rear fenders, something always junked up on these things. Man, I'm so stoked!!! Plans are to dump a 59AB in it if the current engine is indeed junk, lower it, new brakes, gl*** and such, and drive it! So, heres my new ugly truck. On with the pics:

Heres were she's sat for 20 some years. Notice the exhaust stack on the p***anger side :D

Congrats on the new project. My wifes bosses family has orchards or cattle ranches or something and they have one of the 42-47 style trucks Ive been trying to talk him out of.

I dig it man, looks like you know the formula to getting them done right. Good luck and thanks for the pics.

****er!!! Dude I am really happy for you though. I am glad that you were able to scoop it up and that it turned out to be so solid. Definitely a good score even though the rocket may go the way of the dino for it. Who needs an Olds when you have all the flathead **** in the world!!!

It dosen't show it in the pics, but it was almost strait down hill for like 100 yards. I pussed out as I didn't want to fall and die. But anyone who is curious PM me and I'll tell ya exactly were it is. Lots of cowls, but nothing looked ford and thats all I give a **** about...

****, Chris, that thing looks nicer than the one you lost. Have someone from England send you some Ankor Wax. It'll seal that rust no problem. And you just KNOW that you have to keep those stacks. I say keep the bumper too.

That truck is awesome, and for me to use an abused '80s term you know it has to be good. Good score (y'***hole). :)

Chris, I love that custom two tone paint job by Pat and Tina...I am sure it will be just as cool as the rest of your fleet when you are done with it. Nice truck.

Well, it's getting really cold really quick here and all my indoor space is consumed so I probably won't attack this thing until spring. Gotta get my roadster done anyways :D Once I get to workin on it, it should only take a couple months to be a driver.

chris, i have looked at that truck every time i was in omak. it had been moved around a few times and he wanted way more for it back when i last looked at it so he must have pulled his head out. thing about omak is its a indian reservation and there is vehicles all over. i used to live in chelan and drive up that way with my realitor cousin that specializes in orchards. the back side of a orchard is where you find lots of cool stuff.

HAHAHA! The 51 pickup may be up for sale Bob ;)

Found the crack in the block, from one valve to the cylinder. Also has a huge hole in that cylinders piston...so she's gotta come out :D
