Why did canada get Mercury trucks??

Does Ford mean something obsene in french?? Are canadians naturally attracted to the mercury name?

I just picked up the tailgate to merc-ize my 51 f-3, so kinda wondering

Ford marketed the Mercury truck in Canada. Dodge marketed both Fargo AND Dodge pickups in Canada. Different markets, different names.

All late 40s and early 50s Mercury trucks came with flatty V-8s too, we didn't get any lame 6 banger trucks up here.

I grew up right on the Canadian border in Washington state and never heard that one before.

 

I thought it had something to do with the metric system. Litres and s!*t

 

OK, all you hockey pucks up north listen up. Zamboni's are made in SoCal, eh...
