I've done the metalmeet.. ONCE. wish I could go again.. I met wray, dutch comstock (who also offers cl***es) and many others who taught me abunch in a very short amount of time.. I would like (someday) to do a cl*** with lazze.. but I doubt that it will happen anytime soon.
I took the cl*** that Dagger Tools dose John Crosley was one of the teachers. I also took the cl*** that Ron Fourner puts on. Both were very hands on learned alot at both. I would highly recommend both. The Dagger tools one we did a lot more gas welding. We picked one of his bucks and made 4-5 part then welded them. Ron's cl*** was more on the wheel making smaller parts. I also took the welding cl*** the Ron's son Dan dose learned alot there too. Very nice people at both cl***es very patient. Very good teachers
Did the Ron Covell cl*** at Sachse Rod shop in Dallas this year was my first I had a great time and learned afew things too His cl***es are all over the country you can ck his schedule at http://covell.biz/ under workshops later Andy
anyone know of any in the jersey/philly area? i have been wanting to learn more about metal work but dont have the tools/garage to teach myself or know anyone around here to teach me
Fay Butler came here to Wyotech a couple of years ago. VERY informative! I wish we could get him back to follow up.
sorry im in marinerett til friday i think thats thats like 2 hours away man those girls know how to drink up here. ill let you know if i can come by
I did Covell's cl*** a couple years ago, no hands on, wouldn't do it again. I did the Dagger cl*** last year. Very nice, lots of hands on work. I would gladly take a cl*** there again.
i am seriously considering attending john kelly's cl***es. his work speaks for itself...while it looks like he fabricate almost anything - his focus on repair, shrinking etc speaks to what's on my plate right now. also, i could REALLY use a vacation and the idea of spending some time on the washington coast doesn't hurt. more info here: http://www.ghiaspecialties.com
I have gained a lot of knowledge by attending Metalmeets. There is one coming up next week near here.
I took a couple Covel cl***es down at Hercules Rod Shop in Tampa, Florida. Advanced Metal Shaping Bucks and patterns. Learned a ton in each, and I highly recommend them. -Brad
maybe you should put something together.i'm in plymouth, about 25 minutes away.i'd be willing to help.i also took ron covell and gene windfield's cl***es.
Went to Fay Butler's cl*** a while ago, still use what I learned, even though we rarely do body work / metal shaping at our shop. Would highly recomend it to anyone.
Another recomendation for Fay Butler.... alot of "why" instead of "how" which is a huge benefit I believe..... he's in Wheelright, M***achusets
I've been through Lazze's Step one and Step Two cl***es and can't say enough good things about the man and his techniques. Plus the cl***es are limited 5 people at a time. Very much worth the money and the trip. Only down side is that those awesome machines of his will completely spoil you and have you trying to figure out to finance a set.
