Hey folks, I'm new here.. I've been reading off of the hamb for a long time cause I'm a freeloading jerk.anyway I just wanted to post some pics of my 53 chevy. I hope you guys like it. and I'd love some input on it.[IMG]its chopped 4 inches all the way around...its not finished yet but its pretty darn close. I would like to sell it in the future..or trade it for a cadillac.

[IMG]my goal isn't to sell it. I more or less need to sell it. I'm trying to get my little shop up and running. I got canned from my job about 6 months ago and so far I have managed to survive and build this car up by just doing other peoples cars... I actually feel really lucky to have gotten fired and been able to do this full time. I will post more pics as soon as I'm able to load them up.I have pics of the frenched headlights and all that good stuff as well. but I'm really glad you guys like it and I thank you for the kind words. For the read window I just cut the frame out of the car fully. set the top where I thought it looked best and made the gl*** flow evenly with the roof.

Really nice flow, great job. Did you sink the bottom of the rear gl***, buy new laminate and cut it, or use lexan?

  15. The chop looks good. Is that a Dodge rear bumper??

Good call 47plym.. you know your mopar.its off of a 1950 desoto. I grabbed the front bumper and the light up hood ornament as well.the rear gl*** is the original window out of the car. the bottom edge in the center is sunk in about an inch and the corners are sunk in about 2 1/2 inches or so.all the windows had been tinted before I bought the car and it gives is a pretty mean look, so I wanted to keep the gl*** in good shape.ill post a better pic of the rear window in a minute.

[IMG]Its a little ways from being finished out but it gives you a little idea. I will be chopping a 1950 chevy four door in a week that I will take very detailed pics of and post them here. The funny thing is, before I chopped my 53 I googled for a tech and found a few here on the Hamb.

That's exactly what I was gonna do, but I had the shoebox window and decided to do that instead, good to know that the other way would have worked too.

yeah I diddnt have an option for my rear window..it was all I had. I did cut the rear window out of a 1950 desoto for the next time I chop something.
