i picked this holley mag/dist the other day?what is it for?anybody know/???????ideas?tractor?it has oil inlet outlets as well??????
No doubt I will be tagged as being a ass, but the little tag with the numbers on it that we can't read from the photo are probably a good point to start from. You have a model number and a part number. Holley is still in business... The fittings are probably for oil lines?

The safety wire could be air craft or military ,but my best guess is an ice cream blender less the prop .... or im just hungry .
Says clearly on the side: Part No: *-719 Model: 1255 Eng. Mfg. No: 48312 Holley Carb Co. To me that's all you need to know to find the info. (* means can't read the first number)
Those aren't oil fittings, they are vacuum ports for a vacuum governor. They go to a diaphragm on the carb. There's a centrifugal setup in the bottom part of the dist. Common on big gas engined trucks.
I have a '58 International V220 dump truck with a 549 International gas job. The 549 is a V8, but it does have a Holley distributor very similar to yours. I'll check the part numbers later. Governors' were typically mech. wired so that drivers could not tamper with them and over run the motor.
