duece carbs late model aod in a flathead?

    Ive decided to go with a ford aod trans on my flathead.I have a few questions ?im running a duece intake with holly carbs,i imagine the kick down rod mounts to the back carb?there isnt some expensive bs kit you have to buy ?and also i want to keep my steering column and use my column shifter to engage gears.any problems i need to know about first? thanks

    Here's a video of the 'adjustment'. Looks like you could copy the lever for the throttle on the "truck" version and use the factory bracket. I don't know how much room you'll have though.

    Not a flathead but similar setup. I bought a Lokar cable and fabed a bracket.

    I did one on a customer car with the Lokar cable. Hooked it to the middle carb if I remember right and ended up using an additrional light weight return spring down on the trans to make it work. Maybe I was doing something wrong but the car is still running.

    The Lokar cable ***embly is reasonably priced and comes with the correct brackets. Buy 20 ft of hydraulic line and a good pressure guage and make sure you have the Throttle Valve (TV) pressure set right on the trans. It is not difficult to do, but if you don't do it, at a minimum the trans won't shift correctly, or worse will burn up.

    TCI sells a Constant Pressure Valve body. I put one in my AOD, it eliminates to chance of killing the ****** by having the cable misadjusted. I think I paid about $300.00

    my biggest was the keeping my 3 on the tree column and hitting all the gears
