I just got back from the Henderson Reunion and Hall Of Fame gathering. In less than 10 years Nancy Wilson has made this one of the best events in the south. The town is an old southern town about a mile long. For one day it is transformed into a mile long car show/drag racer reunion. Here is just a few who were there. Top Fuel Drivers Jim Walther, Billy Lynch, Jerry Baltes; Funny Car drivers Hubert Platt, Tommy Grove, Tom Sneden; Super Stock/Pro Stock drivers Wally Bell, Roy Hill, Sam Auxier, Bob Reed and Bobby Warren. Walther told a story of a Saturday night match race back in the sixties. It was not a well lighted track and Walther's opponent was staged but as Walther staged he saw what looked like a plane landing in the shutdown area. He grabbed his fuel shutoff avoiding a disaster. The plane taxied up to the Christmas tree and as the pilot opened his door the irate track operator met him asking him what the hell was he doing. "Isn't this SO-AND-SO Airport" he asked. "Hell no", said the track operator, do you think 4000 people came here to watch you land" These racer reunions are too much fun to miss. Was anybody there who can post pictures?

  2. Wow the landing thing sounds kind of weird or not true... Either that or the pilot was high on something. Hopefully someone has some pictures though, that would be awesome.

Me and a good friend left early to get their before the crowd ,

Man everyone else had the same idea,

We hadn't walked a half block before I realized that I wasn't going to be able to take any good pictures because their were so many people .

Next year I WILL BE extra early so I can fix that problem....

Their was so much cool stuff that we still had a blast .

Some unbelievable cars there, that you would not be able to see anywhere else, and up close to see all the detail ......

    Great show for sure.............

    I only got three shots,

I'll see about posting them soon, camera is at work !
