I found this book at the flea market in Grand Rapids a couple of weeks ago. Gave five bucks for it. It has some great pics of old race cars and some cars I have never heard of. Copyright says 1953 .

Floyd Clymer was an author and publisher of automotive and other motor books.
This a good one. Many of his books were compilations of information from many sources rarely seen in one place.
Clymer Publishing was one of the publishing houses guys who grew up in the 40s-50s-60s learned alot about cars from, especially Fords.
The rights to all his books now belong to Lincoln Publishing, a subsidiary of MAC'S in Lockport NY. They might not even have a copy of this one.

Lotsa treasures available now in this economy, place in time and with the advances in technology.
Can you believe there are things called "Play-aways?" Books contained in MP3 players that'll read your favorite ***le for you while you multi-task?
How sick is that? Haa haa

Hope everyone scores some great hot rod books!

That's a nice book, it's not unusual or expensive though. I think I paid $2 on eBay

  13. That Stanley Steamer was an interesting car, the carefully designed body was made from a wooden canoe! It crashed on its maiden speed trial killing the driver, kinda sad huh.
    Doc.
