Well Said, Crease of Compton ;)

I love 41 Plymouths..... Looks like you're headed in the right direction. I'm glad you're heading the more traditional/ timeless route. Do check out the one that was at the Hunnert Car Pileup 2009. It was nicely done!

well, my man James D came through for me once again. I nominate him Photoshop King of the Universe.

After seeing this I've decided to leave it as is... i may bring the rear window down just a little, but personally i love this side profile shape. I guess I just wasn't seeing it with the windows not together.

  5. thats a badass photoshop version. very cool.

    Fantastic Photoshop work JamesD...

But I wanted to see how it would look if the rear of the top was not moved forward like it is now.. but the whole back of the top angled forward.

I think the proportions look better this way... but thats just my opinion.

I see in the latest photoshop that the running boards are eliminated and are styled like the 46-48 bodies, the lower door that is. Are you going to keep it that way or are you going to run the running boards? I agree the car is looking real good keep it up. As for the rear tire debate, what about using WW pie crust slicks without the skirts? Just a thought. later shawn

hey Shawn how's it going? I've been kicking the running boards thing around in my head for a while now. I'd been leaning toward building it with the boards, but after seeing the killer photoshop jobs that my european friends did for me I realize it looks good without them too. Long story short I'm not sure about that yet.

as far as the tires and skirts go, I like your idea. I'm the type of person who gets tired of things real fast so i've come up with a few ideas of how i can change things around when i get bored. I had actually thought of getting some bias whitewall slicks for the back on a another set of wheels so i could take the skirts off, change the back wheels/tires, pop the hubcaps off the front and have a totally different look. I also have two hoods, one which will be louvered and the other won't. I don't know how well louvers (sp?) will go with the look of the car, but it will keep me from getting bored at least.

what do you think of the fender skirt James did that continues the ribs from the fender? Personally i love it. I asked the old man (sorry dad) if he could make a pair like that and he said it wouldn't be a problem.

Glad you decided to leave the chop. It looks awesome just how it is! Nice job, looks like it could have left the factory that way! I think laying the rear window down more would have looked a little over done...

I like that idea, if you look at the one on pyro's pic page, the skirt covers part of the factory ribs in the fender. I wonder what it would look like with the ribs starting about in the middle of the skirt? If you do have your dad make the skirts could you post up pics of how he does it? At a cost of almost $400 I'm thinking of making my own unless I find a decently priced used pair. later shawn

i know man, they are crazy expensive. It may be a little ways off but i'll be sure to post some pics when i get there. We were talking about it today and the ribs will have to be bead-rolled in or cannibalized from another pair of fenders (luckily i have another set that are rusty).

works for sure. a friend of mine's former car was sprayed in a similar color. can you give some idea how it looks under "not so sunny" Dutch sun.
