Peter Vincents new book absolutely rocks!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by lurker mick, Nov 5, 2004.

  1. I just picked up Peter Vincents new Hot Rod Photography book and it is stunning! Mostly shot at Bonneville it has some killer pics of Big Rics 40, Brian Bass' shoebox and Don Palfreyman's (OFOF) 34 coupe. May be more HAMBr's cars in there that I'm not familiar with.

    Well worth the 40 bucks.

  2. Mick..this year at speedweek, I cruised the trusty 41 Poncho out to the end of the road at dusk to find somebody shooting a bevy of hot rods on the salt. All traditional hot rods. I wonder if I didn't get to see part of the new book...in person!
PS...I think this 34 was in the group of "photo models" being shot.
Is your RPU in the book? Who is the publisher? Thanks.

I just picked up Peter's book last night as well. Thought it was well worth the 40 bucks. Great photography.

How would you compare it with his previous book- the one with the yellow Deuce on the cover?

Do you know if there is any pix of my dad's roadster p/u? He took a pix of us with an umbrella, kinda a family pix. Just wondering. Also, does anyone have a way to get the book directly from Peter? So that he will get the coin directly.

Same thing happened to me in 2002... I was there when he shot pics of Flip's '33 Coupe and Brett's '32..! It was great!

I shot these back then... Amongst others.. Mr. Vincent didn't mind.. [IMG]

  18. Denise,

Ya can just forward the one ya bought for Rudy to me....

I looked at it in B&N yesterday. It's a gotta have, but the old retired guy didn't have any money with him.

  19. Rocky, nothing Peter shot this year is in this book, hopefully he will have another book out next year too.

He shot my rpu at the bend in the road after Morty's 100mph club banquet during the wind storm. Supposed to be in the Jan issue of that magazine no one here reads, ya know, the one that sounds like "Beet Fodder" [IMG]

My wife was just informed that it will be under the Christmas tree, as a surprise of course. Charlie, I also told her to get you one, so if you don't get it at least I tried. it's the least a friend can do, right? [IMG]

I just flipped thru the book tonight at Barnes and Noble. Very cool pix and a story to go along with them. And there even is a pix of "Ryan's" Model A in the background of the Tardel pix.

  28. Rocky, My dads car was in that group of four hotrods you are mentioning. He was driving the black 29 roadster with the belly pan and quikie. A group of us yahoos were in the beater 40 Ford convert with the Mischief Makers name on the trunk. No way you could have missed us. We were all over the place. We were nationwide!

Took a look at the book at the store today. First page I opened to was Big Ric's spread. Then the next page was Bass'. Didn't expect that at all. AWESOME book.

I think I instilled it in my girlfriend that I need a copy....merry christmas maybe?
