Ha well John that depends on time and money and how school goes. I guess I need to order a front perch and 4 link kit now...wheels and tires would be nice to have too but I definitely ain't got that kind of money right now ha

Set the rearend under the frame and got the body set down over it to see if my rearend was wide enough and how everything sits over the frame. Everything looks good so far...

How much space do you have between the frame rails and body on both sides?

Not exactly sure on this it's already taken back apart but i think around 1.5" in the front and probably 4" or so in the back. The frame tapers outward until the rear Z then it goes straight back.

Started setting up the front suspension today. Originally planned to go with suicide front end with spring behind the axle, but today changed my mind. With my 4" Z and 4" drop axle I think it would be lower than what I am wanting, so I set it up with spring on top of axle.

Used pole jack to simulate weight on the front end of the car and am setting caster at 7 degrees. Sound right? Thanks

Good work. Nice job turning it back into a car not a lawn ornament.

Man that's looking good. I like the dash....that's a great idea. At this rate you'll have a roller in no time.

Hope not, I'd hate to be put into any single category ;). It's gonna be built the way I want it, not by anybody elses standards.

Ben looks really good. I would slap in motor, trans and get it up on the wheels before you set that caster in stone.

That way you will be in the ball park for the powewrplant weight that you are going to run.

    7 degrees sounds good.

Thanks and yeah I hope to get a 4 link kit for christmas and i already have the motor and trans jus gotta make a cross member and motor mounts then I can get it on wheels. I jus tacked those brackets to mount the wishbones to so they can come back out or be changed in the future.

Thanks for the kind words guys and yeah i've seen quite a few good lookin chevrolet builds on here. Buncha good carpenters, metal workers, or idiots, one of the three ha

Got the rearend cleaned up and rolled under the frame, borrowed some wheels from a friend, and got the body mocked up at the desired ride height.

I have been gathering parts for a 31 Chevy I plan to build and love this thread. I want to do a frame like yours but still have not decided on the front suspension. I have this crazy idea of doing an all Chevy build but the front suspension from the Fords is flat out cool so I may go that way.

Keep the stuff coming, love it!

Hey man preciate the kind words. And I felt the same way about stayin all GM (or as much as I could). I thought about runnin quarter elliptical parallel leaf springs to keep the chevy front axle you could always try that. You got any pics?
