My wife convinced me to buy my '54 Panel, and have it adapted to take me in my wheelchair. She also encouraged me to build a Kustom out of it, and is quite content to chauffeur me around in the Kripple Kart. I'd say yes she's into it, and quite frankly, without her I wouldn't be able to be. I really don't understand how you guys without supportive chicks manage. The Kart has always been a joint effort between me and Jane.

my girl is into it but not IN TO IT as far as wrenching is concerned - thats my deal. This all is in her blood tho - her Daddy was a Sprint car racer back in the day(still owns his first truck- 53 Chebbi), and her brother is a custom fabricator in El Paso(mostly 4x4 and bikes- he has a couple of bikes that Barnett's HD commisioned him to do).
She loves going to the shows, loves that I love the cars, and LOVES it when I come home smelling of race fuel, grease, hell even BBQ smoke! Provided I dont track grease n crap in the house, she supports me in what I love.
I'm hopin to see her Father soon so I can do it all right by asking for his blessing - all things traditional n such, right?

My girl enjoys her car being seen and really gets a charge out of it when some guy asks her "do you even know what that wagon is..." Most guys can't get their head around it when she tells 'em it's a '59 Ford Country Sedan with a 332 and Cruise-O-Matic. Hell, most of 'em don't even know what year it is, and one guy this weekend called it a Country Squire. She's impatient with the build process, but understands it's necessary. We pulled the 389/Jetaway out of her wrecked '62 Star Chief a couple months ago, and she's itchin' for my truck to get the suspension and powertrain done so we can start on a Model A to put the Pontiac into.

  6. My wife of 34 years isn't in to the show scene at all any more but will cruise with me to some events, even long distance ones if we're visiting friends when there. She is supportive of the hobby as it has supported kids in college among other things and is all for me "doing my thing out in the garage" because she knows I will finish it and we'll go cruising to dinner or friends locally which she likes alot. She does tire of the money going out the door during a build but does like it when it comes back in after a sale and the "house" is paid back with interest. She was also very supportive in our recent house move - we were not moving unless I could put up a decent sized garage. But, I also promised that "her daily driver" car would have a place in a garage, something she has never had and always wanted.

She also loves to drive a stick shift so I'm building a 40 Ford p-up with 4.3V6/5-speed having all the creature comforts, not street rodded but built in a more traditional way. She's presently more excited about getting the truck done to drive it than I am!

My wife is in to it almost as much as me, loves the cars, loves the scene, wants to work on them as her school schedule allows (she's a smart one, going for her Ph.D, not sure how I landed that one) one of these days we'll get her the early 50's Ford or Mercury she lusts after.

my friends keep telling me that im gona die single due to i cant seem to find a girl who can understand why i spend so much time in my garage. after having a few gf's that have tried to convince me to sell my cars and motorcycle's and buy "somthing newer and more realiable" iv basicly desided to just stay single until i can find the right girl or atleast a girl that understands the way i am to a point anyways lol. until then my friends will just keep busting my chops for being "kronicly single" as they call it.

She mostly "gets" that I "get" it, she don't really "get" it, but she mostly goes along with my "getting" it, 'ya know what I mean?

She sorta pats me on the head and says "It's o.k. little boy....that's a really nice dune buggy..."
(Hope she don't see this; she'd be pissed...she thinks she gets it...:p)

One of the biggest fight I've been in with my wife is when I sold a roadster she liked. She was pissed so I bought it back a year later. I put it back for sale on the HAMB.......She found out.........NOT FOR SALE anymore

My gal's dad collects and restores 55 Chevy's, so she's been in it since she was born. Its pretty sweet really. Her dad runs a couple shows here locally, one for himself another for the local catholic church, and its run mainly by him and his family, and I get to help out quite a bit. Do I have it good? Hell yeah.

The 'X-wife" tollerated my obsession and hated money I spent on the toys,..and not her. So,I divorced her,( had to get rid of one of the Toys) and build another. My girlfrind appreciates cool cars, digs car shows, and has been known to get 'soaking-wet' in the rain, coming back from an event.( in my 32' roadster w. no top or side windows.) Find a 'car-girl' and the rest will take care of itself!

    My wife is a saint!
Our 67 Dodge Coronet 500 Convertible is "hers".
Originally bought as a parts car, she wanted it, she paid for all the parts and pieces to restore it. It's an automatic. I have a 66 Coronet 500 Convertible, 383 4-speed, so we have "his and hers". Many of our vacations are car related, either museums or shows like a Corvair Convention, or All Chrysler Nats in Carlisle. She goes to some local shows and cruises too, but for the most part some of them bore her.
I'm up to 10 cars to play with now, and she still hasn't killed me!
