Trying to help a guy find an old race car. It belonged to a relative and he'd like to buy it or at least find out what happened to it. Here's the info I have, not much to go on but you never know this is a pretty amazing place. 1936 Chevy, 320 GMC 6cyl, G/G cl*** G***er, from Michigan. Built and raced by Pfents Auto Speed Shop and raced under the name Six a Go Go. Last known Whereabouts, Allen Park Michigan, late 80's early 90's. Anyone ever hear about or seen this car? Thanks for any help.

Are the front brake drums VW? Looks like the right bolt pattern. Good luck in finding it, neet racer.

Call Harry McAuliffe. He's been involved in Hot Rodding/ Drag Racing in the Detroit area since the '50s. Knows everybody that ever was. Doesn't do computers. His number is 313-534-5974. He won't be home til Sunday-he's at the Hoosier Swap meet in Indy right now.

That car has sooooo many good things going for it. Everything is perfect in my eyes, INCLUDING the 6 banger. I love a good inline six racer.

I bet that thing kicked some major *** back in the day.

Thanks for the tip. I called and he's gone to Hershey/Carlisle for 2 weeks but I'll call him when he's back in town. The car is rumored to have been sold to a guy in Allen Park Michigan (where I live) at some point.I know an older guy here in Allen Park, Joe Moradian, who's a big car collector. I can't seem to run into him though. Thanks again for all the tips.

I graduated from Cabrini High School in the mid 70s. Got outta Allen park for good in 91. Have never seen this car. I knew most of the drag race types in that town. Go to Mayfair Speed and talk to Dan. I know Joe pretty well for decades. Doubt he'd be any help. Dan's a better shot. Look up Roy Nacewitz (sp?) in Carleton (was in AP forever before that move) and I believe he's still in the biz of early V8 fasteners n such. Knew everybody. There's a collection of cars unknown to most on Van Born Rd as well. Try S&A Marine too. Steve's been there since the 60s.

Hope those few tips help ya out.

I live around block from Cabrini. Mayfair is out of business again. I have shop in Newport and go to Roy's place in Carleton quite a bit, didn't think to ask him. His old place was next to KFC on Allen Rd and Champaign. What collection of cars unknown to most on Van Born Rd? In AP or Dearborn Total Automotive? S&A has always been a cool place. Thanks for the tips.

Don't know the person's name on Van Born, but it's the AP side...old machine shop? Where in Newport? I live in Exeter near Calders. Send me a PM.

I have had the wanted poster up at My shop for months. No bites. It must have been more of a show car or not raced that much. Nobody seems to remember it. Good luck

  22. Got to wonder HOW many old Chev g***ers actually used a VW front end..
I spoke with Bill Coleman recently and back years ago,he partnered with a guy who ran a blown chevy coupe..They been searching for that car as well. It also was in Michigan. Was known as NASTY..pianted green...

Good luck in your search..Likely a street rod somewhere by now.

My Dad bought a black 1950 Olds Holiday Coupe from this guy back in the mid '90's. I went with him to look at it. Tons of cars packed in so close you couldn't get between them. I'll ask if he still has the guys number but I highly doubt it.

It's been over ten years, probably closer to 15 years ago, but I think the place was between Telegraph and Pelham on the south side. I don't remember any name on the warehouse looking building. I remember a roll up door on the front right side and small windows at the top of the walls near the ceiling. That's all I got....I'm getting old.:D
