53 or 54 Chevy Bel Air Pick

'54 although i've got a '53. Anybody have pics of a 53 grille with Desoto teeth? I seem to remember a section of a Barris book that explained how they almost bolt in.

 

I like 54 better...

 

I own a 53 but I have always thought that the 54 grill is pretty sweet.

 

Guess I'm partial to 54's, but seen some nice 53's too.

Thanks. They couldn't be more different. The black one is a 350/350. Mustang II, & DP90. The green one just had the 6 rebuilt, 700R4 and it's basically stock everywhere else.

Definitely 54. I bugged an old man about selling me his one summer. He moved it that winter and put it under a car cover. I have that affect on old people with cool cars.

54 here. I'm incorporating some of the design elements into the front of my 54 PU. Sorry, no pics right now...too busy with the 61 bubble.

I dont like either cause they look like a Checker Taxi Cab but when my daughter got the chance to pick the car she wanted she wanted a 54 but it had to be chopped so here we are with this... she's 14 so I was so proud she didnt say honda....! It has been some long nights but she will like it.. 7o's straight 6 turbo 350 and the wrong rear end that is a little too narrow.But we can swap that out when I move the rear end back anyways...

 

i prefer 54. that's my favorite car.
gotta be a two door sedan, not a fan of hardtops for those cars.

front parking lights didn't rust out as bad on the 53.

 

I've owned about 12 53/54 Chevy cars the past 8 years or so and personally I like the 1953 grille better, but I like the 54 tail lights.

I still have a 54 210 2dr car, but it's a basket case and I don't know if I'll ever get around to doing something with it one day or not.

Yes they'll interchange. I took a set off a 53 I had a little while back and put on a set of 54's.
