Another "What's this wheel" thread

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by hemisteve, Oct 18, 2009.

  1. Borrowed this pic off of another thread - can anyone ID the wheel? It's on the back of an Anglia, looks to be 15". Reminds me of a variation of a Cromadora wheel, possibly a factory offering on a European car. Anyone know for sure?

    Thanks,
    Steve

Kinda favors Ronal or Remotec wheels.

  3. Those are nice - what's the deal with them? Are they all aluminum? What size?

its close but not the exact one on the car..
im wondering if they took a different wheel and had every fourth web removed and than had windows cut in, or a different model of the one listed (pictured) above

I think this wheel is on a UK thames van. Its possibly some thing used backside out for clearance. Maybe a british mag?

  6. Never thought of that - now that you mention it it does look like it may be backwards. Still would be interesting to know what it is.

    Its English.

I picked one up once (13" 10" wide), aluminum, really heavy.

The mounting face isn't flat, so it probably isn't turned backwards. there appears to be a tiny lip around the center hole, and the way the spokes just kind of flow out to the edge of the rim says that its probably mounted correctly. What is it? I dunno.

Its on the back of a Thames called Allycat.

If you Google that, you'll find it on a site that discribes it.

    jmthehermit was right.

    J A Pierce...
