Greetings Hambers, Yogi here from Houston. Been on the Hamb for a while but have'nt introduced myself till now. Im pretty new to the hot rod scene but have been around the prewar car scene all my life. Im currently working on a a 32 sedan that I plan to make into a *****in hot rod. What I have collected so far: a solid 32 sedan body that still needs alot of love, I have a killer ch***is that Eric Perrat at Pinkees built for me, and I have a 392 hemi out of a 1957 new yorker. My experience with cars has been retsoring model A's to exact factory specs. Me and my dad used to be kind of purists about salvaging these cars but we've frankly gotten a little bored and were ready to rip into something cl***ic and valuable. I could really use alot of advice to do this car some justice. Id like to stick to a late 50s hot rod period in the styling. I'll get some pictures posted asap. Thanks Yogi
Anyone have any suggestions about wheels and tires? Were they still using bias ply in the late 50's? I was gonna run 700's and 550's but was little concerned with how tall it would be. Any suggestions.
hey YOGI...a BIG texas welcome. there is a tire co. i think hooser- that makes all the old tires. i like your choice in the hemi man they look grate. yea i was born in houston but now live in waxahachie tx. hope you like it here... POP
Yogi, welcome from Denton. Yes, bias plies were still used then, check out Coker, they are an Alliance Vendor, so if you are an Alliance Member you get a discount (plus they help support the HAMB so why not support them). Good luck with the project.
Welcome Yogi, looks lke your off to an awesome start. I can tell already that this will be a really cool build to watch. Please keep us posted!
Welcome from El Paso! I'm helping a friend with his 32 sedan. We were gonna put a hemi in it, but he decided to go with a 409 instead. Good Luck on your build!
