Hey, all. Been lurking a good long while. I got interested in hot rods back in the late '50's when my dad was stationed at Patrick AFB, FL and I discovered the 'little pages' magazines at the base exchange. I was in junior high school. I've never owned a real hot rod; the closest I came was a brand new '69 Z-28 which didn't have enough torque to break the wheels loose from a standing start unless you were a lot less cautious than I was at the time (I was a brand new AF officer at Eglin AFB, FL.). Although it would get the speedo up to 130 a couple weeks after I got it, but that's another story... Anyway, I've finally got my first rod, a '48 Chevy Aerosedan. It was some other guy's project and I'm making it my own. The body seems pretty sound but I haven't the heart to grind it down to sheet metal to find out the real truth... I'm not as devoted to 'traditional' as others here but I hope we can overlook our differences and concentrate on our 'alikes'.
