Any one know a trick to removing the rear spring on a 1950 chevy 3600? I got the retaining bolt out but no luck with the grease pin. any help would be great Thanks
There is a hole in the frame right behind the pin. You should be able to drive it out from the back side. Or use a slide hammer from the front.
Is it normal to have about 1" side to side movement on the springs when the axle is out? the grease pins look great with no wear, but the movement is still there.
oh about 3/4" round and 6" long with a grease zert at one end. Busy this weekend but will try to get a pic in.
He was asking you about the busshings in the spring eye. They are likely worn and should be replaced. Hopefully, they didn't wear through the bushing and into the spring eye itself. That is pretty common however.
this is a common issue with a/d trucks. lmc has everthing to refurb ur springs an shackles. use them myself they are a good quality product
