On Saturday there was a gray primer'40 Ford with a Carson style top parked in the grove. There are about six picture threads but no one seems to have taken a shot of this car. Does anyone have a picture to post?
If thats the car you are looking for... then here is a bit more history on it... Click on the photo to find out more.
Cool car but man do I hate it when people take running boards off cars. I think the fenders look dumb just hanging in space like that.
Yes thats the one. Thanks!!! OK, I checked out the other pics but I may have some conflicting information. Or its possible that the photos I have are of the Wayne Walker car. Saturday I went to the CHRR with my Dad, he asked if I had seen the grey '39 in the grove and said it had belonged to his older brother in the early '50's. Yesterday he went through his old albums and gave me these to scan and post. These were taken in Torrance Ca. in my Grandparents backyard sometime between '53 &'55: Thats my Grandmother sitting in front of the car.
I don't think it's the same car. The one at the CHRR seems to be sectioned, while the one in your vintage family photos looks to have a stock hood and no sectioning.
I agree, not the same car. The front fenders on the photos Muttley posted have the wheel opening moved up a lot, and the fender itself cut from the bottom. And it looks like the hood is not sectioned. So the whole fender is still in the stock location. Very nice though... thanks for sharing
The more I look at the pics the more I am inclined to agree with you. Do you have any pics of the Wayne Walker car?
This car is mine. It belong to my grandfather. It is not the black and white pictures. Yes, it was in Traditional Rod and Kulture Illustrated issue #15. It looks a lot like the Wayne Walker car, but it is not.
not only does this thing look awesome, but it will get out of its own way with a pair of sharp heads, and tri power. way cool piece of history, and amazingly still intact. zombie
