That might be Sylvester Stallone's car. Here's a pic I took of it back in 1995 when it was in the Auburn - Cord -Dusenburg Museum in Auburn Indiana. I don't see the spot lights that are in your picture, but other than that is sure looks the same.

Man, THANKS for posting these..when i 1st signed up here i tried to get info on this car and nobody posted....I was bummed cause i loved that car so much i've been collecting pieces over the years so i could clone it/build something similar and just got lucky lastyear while junkyarding i found 2 of the correct buick grills. So now i'm ready to start but never saw what the interior was like...By chance do you have anymore pics?? The one i posted had tan while Sylvesters was blue. Do you happen to know the motor? I had several pics of it when it had gone to some auction site but lost them in the midst of my divorce/move....I had about 20 pics of the car from every angle but them are looong gone now & will never be able to replace them. If you have anymore...Please post them!!

Not too much progress this week & last...just hustlin to stay afloat to make bills...its starting to get really cold now & not having any heat in the garage really ****s...Maybe that will be a future luxury next year considering we have never had that pleasure but it hasnt stopped progress in the past...:)...Heres a car i almost had the pleasure of owning waaaaaay back. From what i understand the guy told me Bo Huff owned or did the work on it. Some of the details (in the engine compartment & trunk) just didnt have that Bo touch to them so i p***ed plus i had mad trouble with fianancing it but if i remember right i ended up buying my Model A project instead..I wish now i took my parents offer to co-sign but i wanted to do it all on my own so p***ed it up...Regardless, this car has been a HUUUGE inspiration to me as far as 58's go cause of the overall look & stance so its only proper to post it here...Enjoy!

I found a 64 ss vert & turned a buddy onto it so once we got that squared away i 'tinkered' on the 8 for awhile. Some of my trim pieces need to be restored so can anyone recommend anyone who does quality resto work?? Please let me know...Thanks

When you say trim pieces, do you mean the stainless? Here's what I got from Eastwood several years ago,

    http://www.eastwood.com/buffing/metal-buffing/buff-kits/ew-buff-shop-kit-8-inch-wheels.html

all you need is a good bench grinder. For dents and deep scratches, you may need to gently work them out with a small tack hammer and a fine file followed by some 1000 grit sand paper. Just be careful, if you feed the trim to the buffer at the wrong angle it will grab it from your hands and beat you with it.....and destroy the trim. Not speaking from experience here, but i have heard some stories.

Congrats on getting your dream car! I had the very 1st Impala to roll off the Saint Louis ***embly line. I was forced to sell it in 1990. I have wished many times that I had kept that car. This is the only picture I have of it now.

Nice car!! I always loved a 58 chevy.Would like to have one to put a straight axle under with a 348 tunnel ram..Built a couple of 58 models with a straight axle to see what one would look like.About a year ago was on this property where this guy had a few.The one in the box truck was a 348 tri power 4spd convertable that was wrecked in the mid 60's and has been parked in this box truck for years!!!!!:eek:He had over a hundred old cars on his property.

Man, i would love to walk that yard & esp see that vert even if it isnt for sale...Thanks for the pm!! I just really dig seeing stuff like that....I had someone else contact me who told me about one locally so its to to sniff that out...I have a good knack for finding some kool stuff...My favorites so far is a 40 Ford coupe that was a one owner car, my 58 & my Dads new 1950 Ford...So we'll see what happens...:)

I love the models and remember one night as a kid my dad built me a 58 Impala g***er (silver flake w/blue highlights) wich he later turned into a dirt track car...I still have it to this day....lolol

I just recently started chatting with Dat Dirty Rat, because I saw a pic of the bumpers he was selling and realized "hey another 58 impala owner". So I came to this post and what a small world. his story is the same as mine so long ago. I grew up in Petaluma and raced on Frietas Rd, better know as Paradise Road. Yes I to had the dream to own a 58 impala and about 5 or so years ago that dream came true. I wont explain since thats a story in itself and I leave soon for work.

But right now basically the ch***is is done and body back on. I'll give more detail when I have time. Here's a few pics that i took when i blew the dust off recently. Hopefully we can togather keep the flame going. Stay in touch Dat Dirty!
