Ever have one of those days when....O/T

have a long cry, its tough out there big guy.

 

I'm in the same boat you are in, been laid off for four weeks, no one wants to hire someone with old manual machining skills, my wife can' t understand why i don' t take the mcdonalds job, i keep trying to explain it won't pay the bills, on top of that we have the leaches of my stepdaughter and son in law living here and the law says we can't put them out, of course she takes their side. I'm about ready to pack up all my crap and leave had it.

 

Does she KNOW that what she said hurt you? If she doesn't know, tell her. She will either care or not care. If she cares that she hurt you, then you have something to work with. If she doesn't care that she hurt you, then you have a significant relationship issue that she will need some help with.

 

Oh, she knows. She just thinks I am being stupid.

 

Agreed, you could step into my shoes anytime!!!!! My daughter, job, cars breaking down every week, neighbors, life in general. I've always been told that no matter how bad your problems are, there is always someone who has it worse. Just keep your chin up, nose to the wind and things will get better. I know with the world today it makes a person wonder, but it's gotta!!!! If it doesn't people adjust to whatever. Remember if ya need to vent, by all means do so, it does make a person feel better!!!!!!!!

 

Certainly everyone has problems. Just once in my life, I would like to be problem free but that is apparently never going to happen. And, I have been venting all day about this to some cool people who have sent some PM's and also through this thread.

 

Read the book, "THE SECRET" or watch the DVD. It will change your life. It will at least change your way of dealing with hard times.

Ya know, I used to be the same way. It seemed like everything was piling up and there was no way out. Laid off, wrecked hot rod, dog died and a bad relationship to boot. Recently, I got a job at the Veterans Hospital here in Houston. Everyday, I see men and women who have lost limbs or something else. They scoot around in their wheel chairs or crutches or they have seeing eye dogs. But you know what? They are the ones that have the most upbeat look on life you'll ever see. They suffered a loss and not only overcame it, but they didn't let it hold them down. They didn't give up.

Sometimes, I sit and talk to them and hear their stories and it makes my problems seem so petty that I'd be embarassed to bring it up. So, no matter what it takes, you have got to sit down or walk or just stand in the middle of a field or whatever and thank "the big hotrodder upstairs" for the GOOD that has befallen you. Then, sit down and work out a plan of action.

For starters, be thankful you have fingers, eyes, a home, family and a computer to vent. There are those that have nothing. It could always be worse, but it can also get better. Change your destiny.

obesity is not a joke electodude. it hurts when you get called names... hurts real bad. i dont want to get into it here because this is a hot rod fourum but i cry daily because when i was 7 i weighed 285 pounds and ive spent my whole life..............

Kerry, dude I feel you man. One thing I've learned in all my many years on this old ball of dirt is that nothing last for ever. And that includes the bad times. You got a lot of good freinds here, even tho you ain't met most of them. Take their advise and vent when you just gotta. Lots of luck, man

 

Sky will be clear tonight after midnight in your neck of the woods, temp in the 50s. Get out of town away from the lights and din with a blanket on top of that station wagon. Lay back and wonder how all of them stars got there. Concentrate on the good. It ain't what she thinks that counts. Number one comes first.

 

Explain this is really important to you, so it isn't stupid and shouldn't be to her. Suggest counseling, if she won't go then you go. You can get counseling through a church, even a family practitioner can suggest someone. Whatever it is you are going through is painful enough to open up your heart to a bunch of people you may not even know.
Don't have a knee jerk reaction and do something foolish cause you're hurt. If things don't work out, at least you'll know you tried your best.
A lot of us have been through it, maybe if you show her what has been said on the HAMB.... Hope you can work this out.

yea the tags aint cool, times are tough, took a lot for him to admit what was going on and he's looking for some advice. a lot of people are frustrated out of their head right now, jobs are vanishing, government is trying to run your life, etc. I'm glad he said something rather then jump off of a bridge. they say suicides in this country are up 25 percent.

 

Hang tough dude. It will get better for you. There are those who are having a worse time of it than you. We just had a small girl killed in our neighborhood by a pedophile.

Man up, and deal with the situation with dignity and positivity....whichever way it goes.
