Hi guys, trying to hook up my blinkers but there aren't wires to hook them up to. I'm thinking they're supposed to hook up to where the headlights hook up, in the pic below. There are 4 conntecitons but only 2 are populated, do the positive and neg for the blinkers hook up here?? ****py cell phone pic sorry. That's the horn in the bottom of the pic, that's not working either...it's on the fix it list.
Not familiar with your vehicle but here's a generic '5 wire' turn signal diagram Here's another diagram it for a 7 wire GM column but around the 1970's. Basically for all turn signal systems the wires to 'power' the signals must come from the flasher.
Yes. I don't remember which terminals exactly, but they hook up there on that junction.. Just try them until everything works the way it's supposed to!
uh....I think turn signals were an option back then, if the car did not have them, then it had only single filament park lights. You may need to change out the sockets in the park lights to double wire type, and use double filament bulbs, and run the new wire to your turn signal wire from the switch.
thanks, I'll try those terminals. I already have the new dual filament bulbs and housings in front and back. I'll have to find the flasher unit and see if that's been updated or not. The previous owner already did the 12V upgrade but I have to figure out the brake and turn signal lights as well as the gauge lights. Headlights and dome light do work.
Oh, congrats... May I ask for another picture to see how did you figure it out? it may help in the future for similar cases
Get an "electric ice pick" circuit tester and turn on each light function, one at a time. Takes a bit of time, works great. 4TTRUK
Since the thread is 3 years old and the OP hasn't been here in 6 months, I doubt you'll get an answer.
