Henry made the best grille choices between 1903 and 1932 for that type of car. But a Model A cut down would look best in my opinion.

  2. Or too '60s?

I didn't vote, just not in the mood I guess. But I was a big web fan when I was a kid. Now I'm older (by a ton) and I like things a little more plane (or is that plain).

Given a decent paint job and the rest of the period correct bits it can or will be cool. No paint, wrong wheels etc and it will just be another googa on an otherwise well thought out ride.

Damn I completely missed the point of the poll. If I ran the web (whick is a pretty nice looking web BTW) I wouldn't stick nothing on it. No reason to take something sweet and garbage it up.

obviously just my opinion, but the whole spiderweb, skull, devil, flying eyeball thing is just way, way overdone, and quite frankly boring..,,,,you've obviously got some good fabrication skills, why not use them to make something UNIQUE?.....

i'll bet if you started a new thread on here asking for ideas, you'd get a bunch of excellent ones...the guys here are fantastic when it comes to thinking up original ideas,,,,,there's a LOT of creativity on this board. . .

Well, it is Halloween season so it would be holiday appropriate, just take it out and subs***ute a Thanksgiving Turkey or Horn-of-Plenty for the next one and a Mennorah for the next and Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer with light-up flashing nose of course to finish out the year.

    Seriously, isn't the spider/skull/Maltese/Iron cross/RF/grenade/bayonet stuff just for the O/S R/R boys?

just like the silly grill.:D

do something a little more cl***y, something that won't be dated next year when all the RR is over and done.

No, but they don't look bad, 3/16" chrome round bars spaced about an inch apart. They could be vertical or horizontal. While I don't know where to buy them they seem to be at nearly every bus stop I drive by.

I did some more cleaning on the welds today, nearly ready to install in the 32-grille shell. I plan to give it a satin finish with 320 grit or scotch brite. (Yes I’m gonna install the web) …so if you see me out this spring be sure to stop & chew the fat & tell me how much you like the grille ha-ha:p

I did learn something, many of you guys at HAMB aren't receptive to web grilles. I am cleaning the grille more than the rat rod guys would. My-T is not a Rat Rod by definition?? Whatever the definition is?? I plan to drive the T this summer in primer to ensure everything is how I want it. Then after painting it I might change the grille?? I have plenty of the SS tubing to make a nice vertical grille (as many suggested).

Web grilles are nothing new they were around before anyone coined the term Rat Rod, but as noted it’s now part of the RR “craze”

I did ask for opinions & that’s what I wanted, honest opinions, so I don’t feel anyone was offensive.

now, THAT idea is cool (not Kool) but it's WAAAAY overdone on a car (or bikes), IMO...

BTW, if you use the term "rat rod" in MY shop, you are shown the door....
