Today on my way to dinner there was a guy driving out of the Am/Pm gas sation in a baby blue Valant wagon. Had a 10 sticker from dmv in the left rear window. Looked like it had new cheater slicks on black steels and new wheels looked like billet and new tires on the front. I really liked the car and would like to talk to the guy since its my home town and i have my falcon wagon and would like to see if he wants to ******** and drink some beer. Not to many wagon guys around. Thanks
he's a HAMBer,I talked to him at Jimmy's Picnic in S.F. http://jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=394826
hey guys. that was me in my wagon yesterday. i live in the condos across from the am/pm. i was heading to a friday night carshow we do in concord.
Nice wagon! I want to find a sedan like that to play with one of these days. Got to finish my dart first.
thanks. i wasnt even looking for a car when i found it. but i had to have it when i saw it. i sold my other valiant so i could rebuild this one. what year dart do you have?
You have had that on the track? What did it run? I really need my wagon back on the road. My 302 lost oil pressure. It has a stock 302 mild cam 650 double pumper with a c-4 and 2 1/2" 2 chamber flows. I put 300 gears in it when the 270's blew up. Its a really fun car.
yeah, i go to baja every friday to see friends. next week is the last friday untill spring. i could only get a 17.50 out of it. its a slant six with 2.76's for gears. i took it to the track with 800 miles on the car. all new wiring, new suspension and brakes, and a fresh motor. so i was pretty happy that it made it to the track and back without anything going wrong. im also running a holley 4 brrl and headers. so tuning the six has been a bit challenging. i think its still running a little rich, but i havent had time lately to tune on it.this winter im going to swap in some 3.55's and do some more tuning. gears will help a bunch though because i was just shifting into third through the lights at 5,000 rpm. its a three speed automatic.
check out this one .. slant six and has a Lenco --and moves along very well http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VrAqCYhAI5I&feature=channel_page
yeah, i believe he lives up in oregon. but the local slant six guys down here know him. that video was taken at the track by where i live.
I was on the Hotrod website the other day and they have a write up about fuel injecting a 6 cylinder Maverick using an old K Car throttle body. If fell asleep before I finished the article though. Btw, nice wagon. I really enjoyed reading the thread about where it came from.
I found out that runnin a 2bl carter off a 318 w/ an adapter plate on the offy intake really "peps" it up instead of runnin a four barrel, doesnt have that dead spot.
