my 94 has the vacuum port above the ****erflys, which is what I thought is required for most vacuum advance distributors. That's what the original distributor on my flatty used. Is that not the case for other distributors like msd?

Looks ugly , to new looking for the traditional rods or engine set ups .Too modern looking .... Maybe for for that late 60's or 70's look,or maybe that blanked out plastic street rod look .... plus it just looks like a newer holley with a goddy demon name on the front !..... and a pain when you have to pull the float bowls off to set up .

The stock 94 vacuum port was a unique-to-Ford venturi vacuum used by the early Load-a-matic distributor. You'll want true ported vacuum (above ****erflies) or manifold vacuum for most modern vacuum advance units.

I just got a pair of these in for a friend of mine. He is put them on his jailbar with a mild 59a motor. he has been rebuilding the 94's and 97's forever and decided to give them a shot
He rang a short while ago very excited about how good they were. He says it runs the best it ever has and is very responsive.
He has them on a thickston hi-rise from Rilet-Auto from memory
Sure they dont look exactly period correct but if they are a reliable set-up I could live with them

I'm going to wake up this thread....
Though my present build definitely doesn't fall into HAMB standards, I still wanted a "TRADITIONAL" look. Dual quads on my SBF stroked 347, didn't give me the look I was after. I considered buying the new Stromberg 97's, but decided against it for a few reasons: First, it's not a: "Period Correct 50's Hot Rod" Secondly, I wanted something I could drive consistantly, without worrying about the next fuel leak. Finally, I needed better carburetion than the old Stromberg's or Holley's could provide. So I opted to try a trio of the Demon 98's on an Edelbrock Three Deuce intake. Eventually, I would like to modify another intake, so that I can run four 98's inline. But for now, you've got to agree, that the Trio of 98's with these airhorns, look a lot better than dual quads! Before anyone mention's this: YES, I have an order in for a set of Offenhauser Finned Valve covers! This engine was taken out of my Fox Bodied Mustang.
