who can I.D this custom ?

    o.k. guy's dad has had this pic. for a long time, he took it at a show. he does not remember when or where. it says astro on plate and looks to be a ford. look at fender badge. any ideas on who made it and if it is still with us?

    That looks like one of those "Dream Cars" made in the 50's for the car shows. I think that was made by FORD.

    That is 1 of the ford custom car caravan cars. I cant remember which 1 though. ford hired customizers to build them, some were done by the A bros, Winfield, Cushenbery etc

    Pretty sure Cushenbery built that one.
    It's a '63 Ford and the large rings around the headlights are to go with the extra large tail light treatment on those cars.
    After the initial shock, I really liked it and thought it had more design continuity than the factory version.
    I doubt it would wind tunnel worth a damn though! :cool:

    Just saw it a few days ago. It's in the Imperial Palace car collection in Las Vegas. Still spectacular.
