I'm new here, but I just got a 1949 chevy 3/4ton truck, so I'm lookin for parts.
I'm a lowrider so I'm dropping it I already got the camaro sub frame for it but I want that old look to it so I want a straight 6 in it. It has a 216 engine(bent rod) and I was told that they are not good engines. If anyone could help it would be great!

    Welcome to the HAMB!

  4. Greetings.....
If you want a straight 6, best to find a full oil pressure 235, usually 1955 and up till 1962, or a 261 (less produced heavy truck motor) of the same years. After that its the next generation of the engine.
Check craigslist for a 235 or 261. Usually can find one in good running condition for under 400...... A franklin if you get lucky.

    Heres some links.....
